What makes you loyal to a brand?

You’ve probably all heard the term “brand loyalty,” but do you know what it is and how to gain from it for your business? For small businesses, brand loyalty may sound like a lofty goal that is best reserved for nationally known companies like Nike, Budweiser, or Ford. Consumer commitment to your business, however, is possible on a local scale – if you know your way around a few important marketing techniques.

Consistent Branding is Key

One common perception that brand loyal consumers have of the companies they trust is that they are stable, an element that can be portrayed through consistent branding. In other words, companies that use a consistent logo, a consistent company voice in marketing and product copy, and adhere to company specific graphic standards appear more organized and knowledgeable.

Customers Trust Each Other

Customer reviews can also create and support brand loyalty. These days, peer reviews outweigh advertising from businesses themselves when it comes to trusting the quality of a product or service. Encouraging interaction with and among clients and customers shows that you are not only willing to hear feedback from them but also interested in facilitating their conversations.
Don’t forget that to get positive customer reviews, you must also offer a positive customer experience. You can start that by having a stable, easy to navigate, well-branded website and place of business. While you want to be stable, however, you also want to stand out and have your customers’ experiences stand out. Focus on what makes you different from competitors, and, pretty soon, you’ll have customers and clients coming back to you over and over again.
